Bill Dykes has been teaching guitar for over 25 years. He graduated with honors from George Mason University's music program where he studied classical guitar with Larry Snitzler, a student of Andres Segovia.
Throughout his teaching career, "Mr. D" has transmitted to hundreds of students the joy of playing guitar. Many of these students have gone on to advanced programs in music while others actively perform in music groups.
Bill is still active in the performing world in rock, classical, and bluegrass guitar. He is also a producer, songwriter, arranger and sound engineer, having produced several studio demos and recordings.
Bill has written two books used in his lessons: Mr. D's Very Beginner Book and Mr. D's Blues Guitar Book. He has also released two CD's, PcN Onna Classics, which includes his composition "Duet in Memory of the Gettysburg Address", a work for classical and electric guitar, and Retrospective, a collection of some of Bill's compositions as well as covers of popular songs. |
